Coronavirus impacting Shiloh

The constantly changing COVID-19 situation in the UK and around the world is an unprecedented time for everyone — a time that, for many, is filled with uncertainty.

At Shiloh we have been implementing the government recommendations as part of our support, however due to the latest announcements, we need to take further steps.

We have resolved that for now, where possible, we will continue to open our building to support our homeless guests. We recognise that there are still some very vulnerable people in our community, particularly those who are rough sleeping or in crisis.

However, due to a reduction in attendance from partners, staff and volunteers, the type of support we offer to our guests in the coming days and weeks will change. The number of people we can accommodate in the building at any one time will also be reduced and our opening times may be limited.

We have received new government guidance for homeless day centres, and where possible this will be implemented as part of our daily operations. We want to do what we can to support people through this time, yet also help to limit the spread of this virus.

If you are considering signposting an adult to us for support, please call us first on 01709 559504 to determine what support might be available on that day.

As I say, these are unprecedented times, so we will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days and will be in touch as quickly as we can to notify you of any change.

Please be safe and stay healthy.
